Paviors U9’s had great day out at Leicester Lions inaugural U9 Festival on Sunday 8th March. We were definitely in Rugby country and the quality of play from all the Teams was superb. It was a tricky balancing act only being allowed one Team of 7 with a squad of 18 Players. Keeping the kids rolling on and off, engaged, warm, focused and supporting their team mates when not playing was no mean feat, whilst still providing Coaching support to those playing in the matches (especially as we only have one Coach this season, with one pair of eyes!), thanks to those that helped to keep them all together and out of mischief as much as possible!. We played 3 x 8 minute matches in Pool B, then the Semi final, followed by the Final which again were both 8 minutes. Points were awarded to Teams for the scores and Rugby’s Core values of TEAMWORK, RESPECT, ENJOYMENT, DISCIPLINE, SPORTSMANSHIP plus the use of the Half Game Rule. Mark and I are very pleased and proud to say that our Team of fabulous children ran home winners in the Cup Final.

Thank you everyone in our U9’s family for travelling to Leicester and supporting the whole team. It makes such a difference when the kids, coaches and parents are such a tight knit unit. I am proud of every single one of our kids, they all played their part. And the joyful picture of them together collecting their trophy and afterwards with their brilliant Coach speaks for itself.
