Dear Paviors Family
As the end of the year draws near, we want to thank you all for an amazing year. The success of Paviors RFC is based on you, and we really wouldn’t be where we are without you all, whether you are a player, a volunteer, a coach, a manager, a parent that brings your rugby player each week, a sponsor, you all contribute to who we are today – THANK YOU
Just looking at what we have accomplished so far this season, is a testament to what great people we have at Paviors,
In the Academy, we have seen the lads progress to the final 32 in the National Cup, five U18s players representing the NLD and we have 39 registered players, the largest number we have had for a very long time.
In the Girls’ sections, we now have over 80 girls across the four age groups. Four U16s players were selected for the inaugural NLD U16s England Rugby Developing Players Programme (ERDPP). Four U18s players were selected to represent the NLD of which one is in Centre of Excellence. The U16s entered their first National Cup competition and have one further game to play.
In the Junior Boys section, we have 101 players registered across the four age groups and a team of 17 managers and coaches. All the teams continue to develop players that enjoy their rugby at the best level they can play, whether they are experienced players or brand new to the game. There is a balance for the management teams to keep everyone happy and we are grateful for the support of all the parents in this challenge.
All our Junior teams entered the NLD Junior Boys competitions for their age group all of which are still progressing. The U16s continue to perform as a mixed team consisting of players from both Southwell and Paviors. Their manager, Jarrod Bell, was rewarded for his work in pulling this squad together by receiving the club Volunteer of the Month award for November. Another notable achievement has been a quartet of U15s players being selected for the next stage of the Leicester Tigers Junior Academy pathway (DPP).
Within our Minis section, we currently have around 130 regular children across Little Ruggers (ages 2-5) through to U12s. Most recently, our U8s team had the opportunity to play in a festival at the Leicester Tigers Mattioli Woods Welford Road stadium and our U11s took part in the Defender Premiership Rugby Cup. We provide a fun and safe place for all children to enjoy rugby and make new friends, and we always welcome any new players who wish to join us!
In the Seniors, we are consistently putting out two teams each weekend. Our 1st XV playing in the 5th Tier of English rugby, and our 2nd XV now playing in the RFU league. We have had huge success in re-engaging players, and we have seen nine Academy players so far playing a competitive game for either our 1st or 2nd XV.
As we approach the end of 2022, the Paviors board would like to say a massive thank you for all that you do and have done to keep players playing the great sport that is rugby.
We look forward to seeing you in the New Year!
On behalf of Paviors Board of Directors
