We have just lost a true gentleman, a great character and lifelong contributor to Paviors Rugby.

John Bonsall passed away on 26th May, just 18 days before his 100th birthday,  after a long battle with Alzheimers disease.  Due to the current regulations his funeral was held yesterday, 5th June, with just close family in attendance. I'm sure those who knew him will grieve His loss and would have attended in great numbers.

He was a cheerful and determined character who despite his size was a formidable front row forward and held many positions in the Club. He was a Vice President and the picture is from VP Day in 2010. Well into his eighties he regularly attended the AGM and was no shrinking violet, sharp with an enquiring mind born of his many years in the teaching profession.

His wife Vera, nearing her own 100th birthday,  is still going strong and they have been married for 80 years, yes 80 years!! A remarkable achievement and our thoughts are with Her and the family at this sad time.

Like many I will remember John as a man who lit up a room and was never short of a tale or two.

A True Pavior.
