Neil Kendrick is to be the next President of Paviors, subject to confirmation at the AGM, and the agreement of the Board to put him forward was based on a new system of appointing two Senior Vice Presidents who eventually go on to become President. So, one of Neil’s first jobs will be to identify 2 potential Senior Vice Presidents in conjunction with the Board. Their role will be to support the current President during his tenure which will be two years although there is no official cap on the length of that tenure. Neil is a current Vice President a position hard earned by some sterling work in the lower sides in the days when we had 5 teams out regularly on a Saturday with an occasional 6ths!! More recently he brought the annual ‘Maggies’ Fund Raiser to the Club and has reinvigorated the ailing Vice Presidents and Ex Players Days with some new innovations. He edits the official Paviors Newsletter ‘In Touch’ which not only keeps current members informed in detail but paints a picture of our past with regular contributions from people who have played important roles in our development. There is much to Neil beyond his work at Paviors and he works tirelessly to benefit others.

The Board believe Neil is a great choice to follow Bob Ratcliffe, who added much to the role during his term of office. Without doubt he is a ‘Grass Roots Rugby’ man and Paviors are fortunate to have him in Office for the next couple of years at least.

But before all of that, as you can see the Kendrick’s have embraced the ‘Paviors Rugby Family Force’ and yesterday Neil was hard at it. There was only ‘Arf’ of them there as his son was taken ill in the morning and couldn’t make it. Neil cracked on quietly getting the job done in his normal no fuss, no problem way.
