No doubt you will have heard the news regarding the local lockdowns in the North-East of England and now closer to home in Oadby due to the recent surge in Corona Virus cases. The Health Minister Matt Hancock has identified a number of causes for this one of which is a failure to adhere to preventative measures within grassroots sport. Clearly should the number of cases continue to rise there is every possibility that grassroots sport will be banned for a period of time. Should this happen we will no longer be able to stage Pitch Up and Play tournaments such as the one we held last Saturday nor will we be able to contemplate inviting other clubs to Burntstump in line with Stage D of the RFU's Return to Rugby Roadmap. We have plans to host Friday night Ready4Rugby and O2 Touch evenings for as many age groups as allowed. Training sessions will also fall victim to a local lock down.
It is of critical importance that all of us at Paviors do our utmost to observe all of the measures that are in place regarding social distancing, track & trace and undertaking our own Personal Health Assessments when attending any activity at Burntstump. If we fail to do so we may find ourselves in a position where we are unable to attend Burntstump in any capacity for a considerable period of time.
Please comply with all of the measures we have put in place and keep your club open.
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE, STAY SAFE, KEEP BURNTSTUMP OPEN
