EVERY AREA OF THE CLUB REPRESENTED

This years Annual General Meeting came alive as we shrugged off years of lethargy and set things up nicely for the 2019/20 Season.

So a big thank you to all those who turned up and especially to Dave Green, Clare Raine and Di Turner for promoting it so well, there was a great feeling in the room.

During the evening we agreed next years subscription and had lively and constructive debate on the accounts and next seasons budgets. I gave an update on things off the pitch and Pat, Dave Green and Andy Carey gave glowing reports on our on field success and progress. Andy stood down as Mini Chair to concentrate on the important fixture organisation and he leaves the post in a healthy position for Clare Raine to take over. When it came round to the appointment of The Directors Dave Green was added to the Board and we look forward to a significant contribution from him after his years of experience when coming through the M & J system with both his sons.

Thanks were given to Chris & Di for stepping in to the kitchen and turning it round and to Roni who after just a year in charge of the ground has carried on the good work of his predecessor and the pitches have never looked so good. We have done much this year and the help of all our volunteers allows that but a special mention from me to the help of Steve Hall and Kelvin Macdonald who are ever present when needed. Special mention also went to Duane Broddell, a Director of the Sports Club, who not only sponsors the Club but helps me immeasurably in the work needed to maintain and improve things.

Current President Bob Ratcliffe informed us of his idea to appoint Senior Vice Presidents who would work alongside the President before inheriting that role, great succession planning and both Neil Kendrick and Simon Stirland were greatly honoured to accept the new roles when Bob approached them. The Club will soon be benefitting from that trio.

Nearing the end of the meeting attention was turned to the appointment of 6 new Vice Presidents, an award given for long standing and/or significant service to Paviors.

The new VP’s are Iain Wigglesworth, Richard Garden, Malk Hall, Di Turner, Roni Rusdale and Sean Stephenson. Congratulations on their well deserved recognition of their work at Paviors.

So a good meeting which reflects the great atmosphere at Paviors, thank you to all those who came but a reminder from the Directors right down to the Little Rugger organisers we have to keep going forward, keep improving and that will come from the top down this coming season.
