Steve Brace played for the club in the seventies and eighties and will be remembered by those who played with him as a true Paviors stalwart. He was a robust, fast centre who punched way above his weight. Off the field Steve enjoyed the social aspects of the game to the full and was always good company. Sadly, Steve recently lost his lengthy battle with cancer and our thoughts are very much with his wife Chris who survives him.
Sam Walsh passed away at the weekend after a long illness. Sam treasured his time at Paviors where he first learned the game in the minis and colts. He was a forceful and aggressive loose head prop straight from the Paviors mold. He made many friends at the Club and said that Paviors did much to change the direction of his life. He gained a rugby scholarship at Worksop College where he received county and international recognition. Sam went on to have an illustrious rugby career playing over 200 games in the National League, first with Rotherham and then with Bedford. Our sincere condolences go out to Sam's family.
A minutes silence will be held before Saturday's home league fixture with Belgrave RFC to enable us all to pay our respects.'
