The Club
A professional approach to the amateur game offers a Bright Future at Burntsump
Hill. The sport of rugby union has enjoyed unprecedented growth in
popularity in recent years, playing, spectating, and viewing. The
higher the profile and the advent of professionalism brings some pain
but also undoubted opportunities for all associated with the game. As
one of the leading clubs in the region, Paviors are committed to
upholding the finest traditions of the amateur game, the sportsmanship,
the camaraderie and the spirit of community.
The finest facilities
Paviors aspire to have some of the finest facilities in
the Midlands. Our ambitious plans to develop the club also require that
we develop our facilities at the same rate. We in the process of building an indoor
training area, including weights and a fully equipped gym, to ensure
that players at all levels have the best chance to improve their
strength and fitness. For our supporters and members we intend to build
a covered stand area for those inhospitable Saturday afternoons.
Paviors R.F.C. 'a brief history'
Paviors Rugby Football Club was founded in 1922, as high Pavement Old
Boys Rugby Football Club. At the annual general meeting in 1929 the
name was changed to Old Paviors.
From 1922 to 1974 the club led a nomadic existence playing on numerous
pitches and using many different venues for the essential social
activities. The club became "open" on July 5th 1971 and moved to its
current ground on Burntstump Hill in 1974, then became Paviors R.F.C.
in1976.
Since moving to Burntstump Hill extensive development of the ground and
clubhouse has taken place. The most recent being additional changing
rooms, a private sponsors / function room, and a medical /
physiotherapy room.
The club has continued to grow in stature over the years, but never
more quickly than in the past 8 years, since the introduction of our
thriving mini and junior rugby section. We have now "closed the loop"
and can provide mini rugby for boys and girls from U7 to U12, junior
rugby for up to U16, and youth / colts rugby up to U19. All of this
compliments our 5 senior sides and the 'fat boys' veterans XV.

Raising The profile
With few exceptions commercial sponsors need to justify their support
with a conviction that partnership with Paviors will yield benefits,
either a higher awareness for the company or the positive association
with a successful club. Our plans are geared to developing the success
of all our teams through first rate coaching and facilities. As our
youth development programme expands we can look forward to more Paviors
players gaining representation at Notts, Lincs and Derby level - and
above. We confidently expect the Paviors name to be even more prominent
in both local and national media. You can also entertain your customers
at the club, enjoying first class rugby and relaxing in the private
sponsors lounge.
